AC Solid State Starters: Integrated Bypass Contactor
AC solid state starters provide a “soft start” for heavy duty AC motors that are often used in factories, printing facilities, food and product distribution centers, and similar environments. And though all soft starters offer a number of benefits, there’s one type in particular that goes a step further. AC solid state starters with a built-in or integrated bypass contactor provide space savings as well.
How does it save space? Because of the built-in contactor, a smaller enclosure can be used for the starter (such as NEMA 12 enclosures). This feature also simplifies installation when trying to install the motor starter in a tight space.
