Voice Activated GPS

Technology always advances and improves as time goes by. The same holds true for voice activated GPS units. I’ve been using one for long enough to almost forget what it was like navigating around unfamiliar places without one. I have a stand-alone Garmin Nuvi 855 and I also have a phone that provides basic navigation assistance.

I compare voice activated units to hands-free headsets for cell phones. It’s much safer and easier to drive when you have your Bluetooth headset connected to your phone. The same safety and convenience goes into voice command GPS models. It’s more efficient to speak your destination address instead of trying to type it as you drive. In fact, it’s never recommended that you type on your GPS while you drive. You should pull over to a safe location and make your adjustments when not operating a vehicle.
